The 12th edition of Groove Awards, the annual showcase of East Africa’s best Gospel music is approaching.
One of the changes expected in this year’s edition of the awards is an extension of the eligibility period. Traditionally, Groove Awards has received submissions for music released between the 1st January and the 31st of December for each preceding year.
However as the awards have now found a home on the 1st of June each year, there have been calls from the industry to bridge the gap between the close of the eligibility period and the actual awards. This in an effort to make the awards more relevant and current to more recently released music.
As a result, we have extended the eligibility period for 2017 to include artist works released between the 1st of January 2016 to the 31st of March 2017. In years to come, the eligibility window will then be fixed between the 1st of April of one year and the 31st of March the following year.
Instructions for how to submit your music come the 31st of March 2017 will be posted here in due time.
Stay tuned. Groove Awards is back!
