ABOUT GROOVE AWARDS

 
The Groove Awards with Skiza 2010, which seeks to Promote, Expose and Celebrate Gospel talent across Africa officially started with the Media Launch on the 24th of February at the Sarova Stanley Hotel. Groove Awards kicked off by calling upon gospel artists across East Africa to submit their entries, for the 5th edition of the event that will be held on May 1st at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC).


Since its inception in 2004, over 600 artists/groups have been nominated and over 100 Groove statuettes presented to musicians in Kenya and East African region.
With an attendance of over 4,000 people of all ages, every year taking it to the next level, Groove Awards 2009 was LIVE on NTV and had countrywide audience, as well as the millions of DSTV viewers.


Are you an artist, choir, group, DJ, radio or video producer, radio or TV presenter who does gospel music? A “Groove” could be yours this year.


The Objectives of Groove Awards are to:
  1. Promote and connect Gospel artists across Africa
  2. Open doors for upcoming aspiring singers, songwriters and musicians
  3. Raise the standards in the music industry
  4. Promote local gospel artists and their music to a global audience
  5. Unite gospel musicians through celebrating excellence in music

ABOUT SKIZA

SKIZA is a service from Safaricom that allows your callers to listen to some music instead of “ring ring” while they wait for you to answer their call


You can select from wide range music including Local & Vernacular Kenyan, Lingala, Naija, International, Gospel, Bolly wood, etc. Additionally you can get jokes, movie lines, famous quotes and more!


You can set your Skiza tunes using three methods:-
  1. You can either SMS the Skiza code of your selected song in the following format to 811, SKIZA SkizaCode e.g. SKIZA 7010011. The Skiza codes are detailed in a separate catalogue.
  2. Dial 811 and follow the interactive voice prompts to set your Skiza tune
  3. Visit the Skiza website at www.skiza.safaricom.com and select your songs.
You can set up to 10 tunes and assign them to different callers. If you have purchased more than one tune and have NOT assigned them to specific callers they will be played randomly.


All handset types and models are compatible with this service except handsets with dual sims.


SKIZA tunes will NOT be available to roaming subscribers.
You can also copy a Skiza tune for someone else by pressing 1 twice once you initiate a call and the Skiza tune starts to play.
