Traditionally, musicians made the bulk of their money from the sale of their records.
However in recent times, the platforms for sharing content have increased significantly, and with that, the potential for monetisation of artist content is far greater than it’s ever been.
The challenge is that, until now, only the most savvy of artists have figured out how to really maximise their earnings from all these platforms.
Not any more.
Welcome to RISE! A brand new monthly artists’ forum that features real and candid conversations with industry experts designed to empower Kenyan creatives. On the inaugural edition, we tackle the question every artist is asking – “Can I really make money from my content?”
The conversation features a panel that includes Andrew Alovi (Project Lead – Coke Studio Africa), Clemo Çalif’(YouTube monetisation expert), Tin “Still Alive” (Audio producer & content expert) and songbird Mercy Masika (Top-selling artist).
Moderated by media personality and digital expert Willis Raburu, the event will feature a time of presentation from the panelists as well as an engaging Q&A session.
The event happens at the Dennis White Hall at CITAM Valley Road from 5pm, and is open to all artists and industry players.
